FICTION WRITING WORKSHOP
When: Six sessions meeting on July 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, & 27 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Drawing on Hum’s 2022/23 theme “The Making of Us,” over the course of six workshops this writing mini-series will focus on the elements of fiction: setting, characterization, plot, point of view, theme, and conflict. Through meditative drawing, writing exercises and discussion, we’ll energize our writing practices and build confidence in putting words to the page. We’ll experiment with the various ways of making fiction from flash fiction and short stories to starting a novel and develop techniques to make our stories into being.
